About B.F. Adam

According to the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District website and the Houston Chronicle, B.F. Adam Elementary was named after a very successful businessman and community leader in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD area.   Bernard Fred Adams was born in Cypress Texas in 1908 and passed away in 1996.  He lived most of his life within the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.  He graduated from High School in Cypress in 1921 at the age of 13.  He served 24 years on the Cy-Fair ISD Board of education starting in 1950.  He and he and his wife, Irene, raised four sons who went through the Cypress-Fairbanks school system.  The Cy-Fair Education Foundation hosts the B.F. Adam Golf Classic, an annual charity golf tournament in his name benefiting Cy-Fair ISD student scholarships.
