About Dr. Debbie Emery

According to the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District website, Dr. Debbie Emery began her career in CFISD in 1978 after spending two years in Aldine ISD. She spent nine years at Lieder Elementary as a fourth and fifth grade teacher then became the librarian, before being an assistant principal. She then became the principal at Bane and Metcalf Elementary. then moved to Truitt Middle School as principal. Dr. Emery also served as assistant to the superintendent and as associate superintendent of school administration and human resources. She retired in 2008 after 30 years in public education. Dr. Emery was active in professional organizations, she served as president of the University of Houston College of Education Alumni Board. She was also a member of Texas Association of School Administrators, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. and Delta Kappa Gamma. Dr. Emery and her husband Karl have a son, Scott, who is a CFISD graduate.
