About Shirley Kirk

According to the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District website, Shirley Kirk was born in Little River, Texas in 1930.  She attended Mary Hardin Baylor University and earned her Masters’s degree from The University of Texas.  Mrs. Kirk began her 39 year education career in Bellville where she taught home economics.  She then moved to CFISD where she taught for 28 years.  Mrs. Kirk taught home economics at Cy-Fair High School before moving to Dean Middle School and Cook Middle School to teach life science before retiring in May 2004.  Mrs. Kirk and her husband James of 49 years have two sons together, Evan and James Lee, both who are graduates of CFISD.  Education was a great passion of Mrs. Kirk’s up until her passing in 2015.
