About Dr. Cheryl Corbett Salyards

According to the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District website, Dr. Cheryl Corbett Salyards dedicated 32 of her 36 years in education to CFISD.  Dr. Salyards began her teaching career as a teacher in Houston ISD.  Dr. Salyards served CFISD as supervisor for the cooperative for the hearing impaired and coordinator of programming and senior director of special education.  In 2003, Dr. Salyards was selected as the assistant to the superintendent by former superintendent Rick Berry.  Dr. Salyards assumed the role of associate superintendent for governmental relations and communication until her retirement in June 2010.
