The very popular Mary Jo Peckham Park for All Children is a family-oriented recreational area with a vast number of free amenities available to Harris County residents.   In addition to the frequently stocked fishing pond with surrounding trail & picnic areas, the park boasts a community center with aquatic/fitness facilities, playgrounds and a miniature golf course.

How to Find Mary Jo Peckham Park

The 32 Acre park is located at 5597 Gardenia Ln in Katy, TX in west Harris County.  The park is situated between new build subdivisions to the north and “Old Town Katy” to the south.  Katy City Park (predominately a sports facility) and City of Katy Dog Park immediately border Mary Jo Peckham Park to the south.   Access to all three parks is off Franz Rd via Katy City Park Rd, approximately 2 ½ miles west of The Grand Parkway and 1 mile north of I-10.  Link to Park Map

Mary Jo Peckham Park Features

The park’s amenities include 0.77 miles of Hike & Bike Trail encircling a scenic fishing pond that is stocked every 2 weeks as part of  Texas Park’s & Wildlife’s “Neighborhood Fishin’ Program.”  Visitors can enjoy the use of picnic tables, exercise equipment and a frisbee golf course along the trail.   Mature trees provide shade to a majority of the park space.  At the south end of the park, adjacent to the parking lot, there is a pavilion with a barbecue pit, restrooms, playgrounds (including one designated as senior a citizen fitness playground) a miniature golf course with a gazebo and a community center with aquatic/fitness facilities.  Link to Mary Jo Peckham Community Center Monthly Events Calendar

Mary Jo Peckham Park opened in 1991 with its’ design meant to provide enjoyment to “children of all ages.”    All activities/events are free to Harris County residents.  Registration forms can be obtained at the community center.
