Maxwell Park is simply a secluded piece of property bordering Cypress Creek with very few man made amenities. The popular fishing hole for locals is an example of Harris County making use of flood prone land for recreational use. Visitors should be aware that the park may close after heavy rain events.
How to Find Maxwell Park
The park is located at 12622 Maxwell Rd in Cypress, just NW of Houston, TX. Visitors will drive to the back side of the wooded Lake Cypress Estates Subdivision off Huffmeister Rd where the park sits at the confluence of Cypress Creek and Little Cypress Creek. The park is located approximately 4 miles NE of Hwy 290 and 5 miles NW of FM 1960. Link to Park Website/Map
Maxwell Park Features
Very few amenities have been constructed on Maxwell Park’s 13.9 Acres. The park’s biggest draw is Cypress Creek. Visitors will find ample parking and 0.37 miles of paved walking trail meandering through the flat, wooded terrain. A few benches and picnic tables have been provided.
