Maxwell Park is the quietest park in this directory, and that’s the point — 14 secluded acres of Harris County Precinct 3 woods at 12622 Maxwell Rd, tucked behind the Lake Cypress Estates subdivision where Little Cypress Creek meets Cypress Creek. There’s no playground and no restroom; there’s a parking lot, a short paved trail, a few benches and picnic tables, and sandy creek banks where locals fish. Some parks are destinations. This one is an escape hatch.

What you’ll find at Maxwell Park

A 0.37-mile paved trail meanders through flat, wooded terrain from the central parking lot, with picnic tables on both sides and benches along the way. The draw is the creek itself — the sandy banks give easy access for bank fishing where the two creeks come together, and on a weekday you may well have the place to yourself. Precinct 3’s parks page has contacts; come prepared, since there are no restrooms here.

One thing to respect: nearly all of this park is Cypress Creek floodplain — it’s county flood-prone land put to recreational use, and it can close or go muddy after heavy rain. If the creeks are up, save it for another day; Cypress Park, directly across Little Cypress Creek off N Eldridge, has the amenities (and the restroom) when you need a fallback.
