Richard & Meg Weekley Park/Community Center
View of Community Center from Trail Named for Houston area developer, Richard Weekley, and his wife Meg, the park serves numerous purposes. Opened in 2014, bringing the community together was a big consideration to Precinct 3 when planning projects such as this. The 21,000 SF Community Center serves the public’s need for a versatile meeting location with dance, fitness, arts & crafts and several other activities scheduled throughout the year. More information can be found on the Community Center Website. Improvements have been being made to the adjacent park area in the years since opening to the public. The park is easily accessible to the neighboring subdivisions via sidewalks, but plenty of parking is available both off Greenhouse Rd and Longenbaugh Rd.

Playground Richard & Meg Weekley Park/Community Center is located at 8440 Greenhouse Rd in Cypress TX, just northwest of Houston. A three mile drive to the east of the Grand Parkway and to the west of Hwy 6, approximately 4 miles south of US 290. Link to Park Website/Map

While the community center is the main draw for visitors, the surrounding park can be enjoyed by patrons of all ages. The .85 miles of paved walking trail runs the length of the park along a portion of Langham Creek that has been partially dammed for flood control purposes. Benches are located along the paved trail with picturesque views of the wetland/wooded scenery of the property. At the time this article was written, visitors can use the unimproved footpath on the east side of Langham Creek. Future expansion of the paved trail around the pond is anticipated. The north end of the park (adjacent to the Community Center parking lot) has a playground with numerous picnic tables, both covered and not.
