Raines Academy — known for years as Martha Raines High School — is Katy ISD’s alternative high school campus at 1742 Katyland Drive, in the original town of Katy. Students don’t get zoned here; they apply, usually because a traditional campus schedule stopped fitting their lives — and the campus builds a different route to the same diploma.
What Raines Academy offers
The campus runs an Optional Flexible School Day, which lets students pair coursework with a job or family responsibilities, and it stacks real workforce credentials on top of the diploma: a commercial driver’s license (CDL) program, a water-operations licensing track, a structured student work program — and, the one that catches my eye as a broker, a real estate program that starts students toward licensing before they graduate. For the right teenager, that’s a faster on-ramp to a career than most four-year plans.
Why there’s no rating or zone map here
Two things every family should understand about this campus. First, admission is by application through Katy ISD, so no home in Katy is “zoned to Raines” — your address still belongs to Katy, Mayde Creek, Morton Ranch or another comprehensive high school’s zone, and that’s the school that matters for resale value. Second, TEA doesn’t publish a standard A–F report card for Raines in the state’s school-report-card data, so rating comparisons with traditional campuses aren’t apples to apples. Check your address on the district’s Find Your School map for the zoned campus.
About Martha Raines
The name honors Martha Raines, a Katy ISD mathematics teacher and the long-time math department chair at Mayde Creek High School. She created the Ram Seniors Volunteering Proudly (RSVP) program there — a service model other district high schools went on to copy — and was known for mentoring the teachers in her department as closely as her students.
Buying or selling a home in Katy ISD?
Because Raines draws from the whole district, the home search that fits this page is district-wide. I work Katy ISD addresses regularly and will confirm the zoned elementary, junior high and high school for any property before you offer — plus the HOA dues, MUD or tax rate and flood history that come with it. How I’m paid as your buyer’s agent is agreed up front, in writing. Call or text me, Kevan Pewitt, at (281) 500-7077, email kevan@houstonprimerealty.com, or reach out here.

Raines Academy: quick answers
Does Raines Academy have an attendance zone?
No. Enrollment is by application through Katy ISD, district-wide. Every Katy address stays zoned to its comprehensive high school — confirm yours on the district’s Find Your School map before you buy.
Is Raines Academy the same as Martha Raines High School?
Yes — same campus on Katyland Drive, renamed Raines Academy as its programs broadened into flexible scheduling and workforce credentials like CDL, water operations and real estate licensing tracks.
What does this mean for buying a home nearby?
Nothing changes about zoning: homes around Katyland Drive belong to their regular Katy ISD feeder pattern, and that zoned campus — not Raines — is what buyers will ask about when you sell. I’ll verify the exact chain for any address you’re considering.

A quick note: this page is provided by Houston Prime Realty, a real estate brokerage, as a community resource for home buyers and sellers. We’re not Raines Academy or the school district, and we can’t answer enrollment, zoning, or campus questions — please contact the district directly for those. What we’re glad to help with is buying or selling a home zoned to Raines Academy. Call or text Kevan at (281) 500-7077 or contact us.
