Jenks Elementary — formally MayDell Jenks Elementary — is a Katy ISD elementary at 27602 Westridge Creek Lane in Katy’s 77494 ZIP, serving about 1,360 students from early education through grade 5 — one of the district’s largest elementary enrollments. In TEA’s 2024–25 state ratings the Jaguars earned an A (94 out of 100) with five of six eligible distinction designations. The campus opened on August 22, 2016, as the district’s 39th elementary and runs a bilingual program — fitting, since it honors MayDell Jenks, who spent a 43-year career building Katy’s language education programs. The zone splits at the junior-high step: the Cinco Ranch Northwest side heads toward Jordan High, the Silver Ranch side toward Tompkins.
