John Paul Landing Park
John Paul Landing Park Trail and Creek John Paul Landing Park is an 865 acre fishing and recreation destination that opened to the public during the summer of 2017. Harris County is currently working on the construction of a second phase of the park on its’ north side off Katy-Hockley Cut Off Rd. This second phase will include an environmental education center, an additional park area and a set of bridges and boardwalks to connect to the existing park development on the south side of the lake.
How to Find John Paul Landing Park
John Paul Landing Park is located in far NW Harris County in Cypress, TX. The park’s address is 24202 West Rd, approximately 2 miles west of the Grand Parkway and 6 miles south of Hwy 290. There are two separate parking lot areas off West Rd. The construction of the second phase of the park will include an entrance off Katy-Hockley Cut Off Rd with its own parking lot.

Playground and Picnic Areas at John Paul Landing Park The park currently has 2 playground areas, numerous picnic areas (some covered), restrooms, and paved walking trails. There are also 4 pavilions with barbecue facilities, each of which is able to be reserved through the Harris County Park’s Department. Amenities under development include lake boardwalks, fishing piers, the environmental education center and additional trails. The final length of walking trail is yet to be determined, but by the park’s size can be assumed to be many miles. The park is used quite extensively by local fishermen and its’ second phase is highly anticipated. See Harris County’s Website on the park for future updates
